Have You Ever Recieved Messages From Your Ancestors?
Early on in my ancestral healing work with Jessica Headley, I took a guided trance journey to talk to one of my well ancestor’s from my Mother’s Mother’s line. One of the plant affinities my ancestral guide mentioned in my meditation was roses. This wasn’t too surprising to me as roses were a big part of my mother’s lineage: my great-grandmother’s name was Rosa, all the women in my line love and grow roses, I have a rose tattoo on my shoulder. I used to make herbal products based on roses, etc etc. But I was asked to work with roses somehow to honor this line and honestly, I was a bit stumped.
You see, we had just moved to a new house, a small cabin in the redwoods, leaving behind my beautiful rose garden, with every color and scent, that I’d carefully tended at our old house. I’d always had access to rose bushes in every home I’ve lived in, so it made me sad that in our new place there were many plants, but as far as I knew, no roses. I was frankly confused about what exactly my ancestors were asking of me, rose-wise.
It was literally a day or so after this session that I was walking up the path to our home and noticed an enormous rose bush, really a tree, that had seemingly bloomed overnight. I’d never noticed it before, before blooming it had just looked like a green hedge of some kind. But in the night it had bloomed, with the most exquisite pink, sweet smelling wild roses. It felt like one of the best gifts I’d ever received, a direct message of love from my mother’s line.
This experience was a clear sign to me to keep going with the ancestral healing path. To persevere and trust even when I didn’t fully understand. The ancestors send us messages all the time, they may not be in words, but they will communicate to us through symbols, signs and dreams if we are open.

Astrologically, the day that I found the roses the Sun (illumination) was just about to conjoin Saturn (associated with ancestors), while Mars (action) and Jupiter (spirit) were approaching a square to my Lunar Nodes (destiny). Jupiter was also square my natal Pluto (transformation) in the 12th house and Saturn (ancestors) in the 4th, so all my water house planets were activated.
There's something incredibly healing about sharing our ancestor stories.
