Cancer Full Moon 2025-The “Mama Bear “Moon/Defending Your Right to Dream

Every year the Full Moon in Cancer takes place, usually in late December or early January.
This lunation offers us the awareness that we need to hit the pause button, pay attention to our feelings and spend some time mothering and nurturing ourselves and our vulnerable places.

But today's Full Moon in Cancer is different......

In 2025, Mars is retrograde and out of bounds and "conjunct " the Full Moon-Mama Bear energy- bringing qualities of fierceness and protectiveness.

The Sun in Capricorn is going to also be demanding attention. The very nature of a Full Moon is two opposing forces or signs calling us at the same time. The tension but also the creativity of a Full Moon arises from these opposing forces.

At this Full Moon, the worst of reality is unfolding around us. It might feel like the easy way out to let go of hope, optimism and faith in the goodness of humanity.

That is why this lunation is reminding us to stay alert to survival needs, while also tending to the most sensitive, vulnerable and “small” parts of ourselves. To foster our innate innocence, while taking stock of what is real.
