Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus 2023
Spirit versus Matter. Are they compatible, conflictual, or perhaps a bit of both? The Full Moon Eclipse in Scorpio/Taurus Saturday, October 28th highlights our awareness of the differences between these two modes of being.
This lunation will wrap up the Scorpio/Taurus eclipse polarity we have been weaving in and out of for the last 2 years. With the Sun newly in Scorpio, a water sign that rules the unseen, and energetic patterns rather than physical ones, we are invited to the underworld. But the Moon in Taurus calls our attention also, inviting us to remember life, the senses, the body. We may feel torn between what we think is real physically amd factually, and what we feel or intuit as real.
The space in between is where magic happens and the eclipse showcases what needs to change to initiate an alchemical transformation.
The eclipse brings an bright awareness and highlights the tension between these two polarities. If you have been wondering what needs to be released in material form in order to initiate energetic/emotional shifts-this eclipse can bring answers.
As the season turns from Fall into Winter, Scorpio encourages our focus inward, and asks us to meditate on the essential questions related to life and death: “Who are we, and why are we here?” “What gives life meaning and substance?” “Who or what would we fight or die for?”
Moving away from the active social Libra season, Scorpio guides us through the darkness of winter towards a more private and intimate terrain. During Scorpio’s time we want to focus on what really matters to us: the people, experiences and activities we care deeply about.
The intensity of the Scorpio energy arises from this ability to focus so deeply on these “life or death” relationships and experiences. Scorpio wants us to shed anything that is not absolutely essential to our nature, so that we can more truthfully be who we are.
The ancestors are also Scorpio terrain-as we are attuned to reality of those who came before us and still remain in spirit form. In many cultures of the world, this season is a time to honor and pay reverence to our ancestors.
