Full BLUE MOON in Aquarius
Dear Astrology Friends,
It’s been a minute since I’ve been in touch and I have to admit Jupiter in Gemini has been keeping me very busy, as it squared my Sun, opposed my Mars and is now headed for my Nodal Axis. It’s been a wild ride, with lots of traveling, visiting and plant and animal care ( we now have 3 pups! Welcome to Mijo who showed up on a magical Sunday about a month ago and we couldn’t say no to his darling face and skinny little body.)
But I felt compelled to write today with the WILD Full Moon in Aquarius and reach out to my astrology family.
It’s a spectacular and dynamic Super Blue Moon, with a square to Uranus (the ruler of the Moon) and a mutable t-square involving Mars in Gemini/Jupiter in Gemini/Venus in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces.
All of this translates to feelings of compelling awareness around: community, awakening, connection, service, learning and visioning for the future.
The Sabian symbol for this lunation is Aquarius 28: A TREE FELLED AND SAWED TO ENSURE A SUPPLY OF WOOD FOR THE WINTER.
Living in an area that still depends on wood as a primary source of heat, this symbol hits home. This lunation urges us to explore our resources and areas we turn to for comfort and security. Resonating with Uranus in Taurus as the ruler of the Moon, we are reminded of the great environmental shifts we are currently witnessing and experiencing. How will we navigate the earth changes? Who is our community? What do we need to do to prepare to survive and thrive. The future is calling and wants to know: are you ready?
At the recent Fool’s Journey retreat I attended I gave a talk on Pluto in Aquarius and explored this question of how we build community and plan together for the future. A professor friend who was attending the retreat brought up the fall of the Roman Empire, as we discussed this potent time in history, we both realized we wondered about how the “common” people fared during this time.
She turned to AI (so Aquarius), to research the question and came back to me with a couple of fascinating facts:
1. The “Fall” took 200 years, it did not happen all at once. 2. The common people responded by moving away from the centralized government of Rome and creating small local governing bodies, depending on smaller geographic areas to survive.
We both agreed that we hope we all as a human race will lean on history to learn from past mistakes.
At this Full Moon lunation, consider how you can create and nurture your local community, feeding the future with your service in the present.
I welcome your thoughts and questions about this Full Moon in Aquarius and look forward to connecting with you as we ease into the Fall of 2024. My books are now open, so reach out for consultations or mentoring.
Also I will be traveling on the East Coast September 7-14 with my partner while he does a speaking tour. Come say hi if you are near Sheffield, MA, Manhattan, NY or Woodstock, NY!
